Who We Are

We love what we do and it shows. With more than 20 years of experience in the field, we know the recreational boating industry like the back of our hands. And it shows when you see and experience Takacat inflatable catamarans.

We are owned by a family group that grew up sailing on a Bristol 29. We spent years learning everything boating from our large family of mariners and then went on to be engineers and working in the marine industry. Steve Belbot, our managing partner, was a lead engineer on the USS Independence (LCS-2) project, the first carbon fiber US battleship prior to starting Takacat Americas.

The Boats

With a lineup of dozens of unique models, the Takacat inflatable boats has a boat for every activity and need. Every model is built with the signature clever design and solid 3-ply PVC construction that makes Takacat boats a tough, stable and fun option on water.

In addition to inflatable boats Takacat also designs and manufactures unique and fun inflatable water toys like water slides and kiddie pools!

WE’RE NOT JUST ENGINEERS, WE’RE ALSO BOATERS

The development of Takacat inflatable boats was pioneered by company founder Greg Sowden in Auckland, New Zealand. Greg’s leading edge design approach was born from a love of the water and nurtured from a lifetime spent in and around inflatable boats. That depth of experience led him to produce an inflatable catamaran boat that broke the mold.
